Margot is a local bakery making delicious, beautiful bread and cakes on site from scratch for our neighbours. We don't have night shifts and so the bread, pastries and cakes fill the counter and the shelves from when we open then throughout the day. The changing bakery menu is guided by what we are excited about, customer favourites, festivals, celebrations and seasonal produce.
The bread and pastries, including babka, brioche and croissants are leavened with sourdough and we believe that this makes thebest baked goods possible. We use seeds, whole grains and a long fermentation process to make full flavoured, nutritious and delicious bread. You are able to see the oven and the bakers from the shop and we are always happy to answer your questions about what we are baking and how it is made. Our bakers are passionate about what they do and our baristas love our products and will help you with any queries you have.
We use organic free range eggs from Rookery farm which are delivered fresh every week. The cakes are baked with fair trade sugar, organic flour and Lescure butter and we use Valrhona chocolate in our baking. We believe that cakes should be beautiful and delicious and that the very best ingredients make the very best cakes.
Talk to us about special orders including wedding and birthday cakes and catering. Anything you have seen on the counter can be baked to order. Our couriers deliver throughout London.
We also offer children's birthday parties on a Sunday afternoon; there are limited dates available so do book in advance. We will be offering sourdough classes soon and if you would like to discuss wholesale, catering or renting the bakery for an event we would love to hear from you.
Our small but lovely cafe is flooded with natural light, you will hear the sound of the oven being steamed and the clatter of trays but we love to share the space with those who enjoy the results of our hard work. Do come for a light breakfast or lunch and wonderful specialty coffee from Climpson and sons and to see what is coming out of the oven; we have homemade granola, toast with a variety of delicious toppings, sandwiches, salads, sourdough focaccia, savoury and sweet pastries and changing daily specials.
